Google’s November Pixel Drop could bring flashy features we didn’t expect yet

The November Pixel Drop is almost upon us, and it seems that Google is set to give Pixel smartphone owners some new theme packs to play with.

We were expecting the next major Feature Drop to arrive on Pixel phones in December, with only basic patches and security fixes rolling out up until that point. However, there are signs that the November update could bring some major new features.

Mystic Leaks has offered an early look at Google’s November Pixel Drop, and it’s a bigger one than expected.

November Pixel Drop Additions

Set to arrive on 4 November, the big addition this time will be Theme Packs. The first Pixel Theme will apparently be a tie-in with the forthcoming Wicked: For Good movie, which is set to screen on the same day.

Essentially, these Pixel Themes will supply bespoke wallpapers with accompanying themed icons, sounds, and GIFs.

That’s not the only new feature on the November Pixel Drop. Pixel Studio Animations. This will allow you to generate small AI video clips and animated stickers based on regular photos through the Pixel Studio app.

It’s speculated that this could be driven by Google’s latest Veo 3.1.

Finally, we’re expecting Google to add Pixel VIP Notifications. As the name suggests, this will add prioritised notifications for all your VIP contacts, although it currently appears to be limited to WhatsApp and Google Messages.

Pixel VIP first arrived with the June update, and serves to surface your favourite contacts. You can tap on them to get a rundown of your interactions, including your last call and message, birthday details, shared location information, and more.
