O2 customers are getting a major free gift this December

O2 is giving its eligible customers 10GB of extra data for free throughout December.

If you’re a UK pay monthly O2 customer, the network is gifting 10GB of data over the Christmas month.

Obviously if you’re already an Unlimited customer, it doesn’t apply to you. If you’re on a SIM-only contract, you won’t be eligible either. Business customers, too, aren’t eligible.

Otherwise, any regular monthly customers on an all-inclusive (that’s phone and SIM) finite data plan should see a serious boost to their allowance.

How serious? O2 has supplied a handy little guide to explain what this works out to.

According to the UK network, 10GB of data is good enough to let you stream 4.5 hours of Netflix or Disney+ in HD quality. Alternatively, you could stream around 2,000 songs.

Perhaps you’re more of a social phone user. In that case, 10GB of data will let you place 20 to 25 hours of video calls. And if you’re planning to drive home for Christmas, O2 should have you covered with around 2,000 hours of navigation.

If you’re an eligible monthly O2 customer, this 10GB of bonus data will be automatically applied to you monthly allowance. Just check your account, or head to the MyO2 app to see that it’s been applied.
