For fans of the British reality show, 2026 got off to a flying start. Season 4 delivered thrills every week as the Faithful and Traitors battled it out for a staggering potential pot of £120,000.
This time, the Traitors managed to outsmart their opponents – the alliance between Rachel Duffy and Stephen Libby lasted until the end of the series, winning the pair £95,750.

When will The Traitors series 5 be released?
The BBC hasn’t yet announced when The Traitors will return. However, since seasons 2-4 premiered in January, we believe the fifth series of the reality show will begin airing at the start of January 2027.
Filming for the show will take place in the summer and autumn and, of course, will once again be held at the 19th-century Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands. Claudia Winkleman will return as the programme’s host.

Who are the contestants on The Traitors series 5?
Season 5 of the series has not yet been cast. Recruitment for the programme is currently underway. If you want to apply, you can do so via the BBC website.
The application deadline is 31 May 2026.
Is there a trailer for The Traitors series 5?
Unfortunately, no, it’s too early for that.
Will there be The Traitors series 6?
Everything indicates that it will! According to the latest information, the BBC has signed a three-year contract to produce further series of the reality show, which means that The Traitors and The Celebrity Traitors will air until 2030.
The BBC’s decision should come as no surprise – the show is hugely popular, with viewership in season 4 up 22% from season 3.
