The Xiaomi 18 Pro could have one of the most impressive camera offerings we’ve ever seen in a compact phone, with a spec that could make the Pixel 11 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro look ordinary.
We haven’t had the global launch of the Xiaomi 17 series yet, but over in China they’re already starting to hear some intriguing things about its successor.
Established tipster Digital Chat Station has taken to Weibo to claim that a certain forthcoming 6.3-inch smartphone is set to pack not one but two 200Mp cameras.
The leaker doesn’t name the Xiaomi 18 Pro by name – nor even a specific manufacturer – but given the ensuing comments, it seems likely that this is the phone they’re talking about.

Xiaomi
The current Xiaomi 17 Pro offers a 6.3-inch display and a triple 50Mp camera system, so the provision of not one but two 200Mp sensors would represent quite the upgrade.
Presumably these two sensors would be for the main or wider camera and the periscope telephoto camera. The likes of the Oppo Find X9 Pro and the Honor Magic 8 Pro have already offered such a pixel-dense telephoto camera.
The next step would appear to be to double down on the pixel count and supply more than one 200Mp camera.
It would certainly be the most impressive camera specification we’ve seen in a smaller phone such as this. The iPhone 17 Pro is probably the most impressive compact camera phone on the market right now, so its successor the iPhone 18 Pro might need to watch its back, not to mention the Google Pixel 11 Pro.
