Oppo has revealed some of the key attributes of the camera system for its forthcoming Find X9 Ultra – and it’s shaping up to be a monster camera phone.
As showcased on a recent extended Weibo video, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra will feature not one but two Hasselblad-tuned 200Mp cameras – something that we didn’t see in previous smartphone generations.
The main camera will be based on a 1/1.12-inch Sony LYT-901 sensor, which it shares with the Vivo X300 Ultra. This comes with an f/1.5 aperture.
The other 200Mp camera will be a 1/1.28-inch OmniVision OV52A 3x periscope. That’s a huge sensor for a telephoto camera, besting that of the Honor Magic 8 Pro and even topping the size of the main cameras on many flagship phones (looking at you, Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra).

That’s just for starters
You’ll also find a 1/2.75-inch 50Mp ISOCELL JNL on 10x periscope telephoto duty, which has a built-in teleconverter. That’s a much higher resolution than the 10Mp equivalent on the aforementioned Galaxy S26 Ultra.
It’s an extensive zoom offering, and that’s before you get to the optional teleconverter promising an apparently lossless zoom at 40 to 50x magnification.
Wrapping this quad-camera bundle up is a 1/1.95-inch 50Mp Sony LYT-600 for ultra-wide shots. Then there’s a 50Mp selfie camera on the front to boot.
We’re still waiting for details on the Oppo Find X9 Ultra’s wider launch plans, but it’s already shaping up to be a major photographic contender with no less than 500Mp on the rear alone.
It’s confirmed to be the first Ultra device from Oppo getting a global launch, so colour us excited. We’ll be at the launch event on 21 April in China, so stay tuned.
Oppo Find X9s Pro
Alongside the Oppo Find X9 Ultra – in China at least – we’re expecting to see the Oppo Find X9s Pro announced for a more compact flagship alternative.
Reliable tipster Evan Blass has something to share on that front, in the shape of leaked images. Sure enough, the Oppo Find X9s Pro looks a lot like the Oppo Find X9 Pro that we reviewed back in October.
It’s set to be a little smaller, with a 6.32-inch AMOLED display. Interestingly, though, it could have a similar dual 200Mp camera set-up to its Ultra brother.
We’ve also heard it claimed that the smaller model will have a decidedly non-small 7025mAh battery.
