The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is all but confirmed for Samsung’s rumoured Unpacked event in July, and it could come with a significant upgrade.
Samsung’s second-gen high-end smartwatch, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, has just made an appearance with India’s BIS certification body, following hot on the heels of a similar showing with China’s CMIIT (via 91mobiles).
Short of an official announcement, this is about as close to signed and sealed as a product gets ahead of launch – it means it’s coming soon, which is good news for fans after last year’s 2025 was simply a refresh of the original.
It seems to point to an official launch in just over a month’s time, at Samsung’s heavily rumoured Galaxy Unpacked event in London on 22 July.
We’ve been expecting it to take its place alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold Wide and Flip 8, and this news just seems to confirm that suspicion.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 spec leak
When it does arrive, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 should pack a much-needed upgrade.
Earlier in the week, SamMobile made the claim that the new premium watch would feature a 784mAh battery. If true, that would represent an almost 33% increase over the 590mAh battery in the original Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra.
This was one of the weak points with that first-gen smartwatch, we felt. Our reviewer found battery life to be inconsistent, and also wished it would last longer than 48 hours – something that shouldn’t be too much to ask from a so-called ‘Ultra’ watch.
It could also help with recent reports of excessive battery drain from Samsung Galaxy Watch users, though Reddit reports suggest that this could be an issue with Google Play Services.
Other recent rumours have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could be Samsung’s first smartwatch with built-in 5G connectivity and run on a new Snapdragon Wear Elite chip.
