Pre-order deals on phones are common, but Amazon has some huge discounts on the new Xiaomi 17 phones, which even beat the official store.
Amazon is currently selling the brand new Xiaomi 17 at a £150 discount, which brings the price down from £899 to £749 – a whole £50 cheaper than the asking price for the Google Pixel 10.

There’s an even bigger £200 saving to be had on the more premium Xiaomi 17 Ultra, though that’s on a much more expensive (£1,299) phone. Plus, the trade-in bonus credit is also matched at £200.
What’s unusual is that Amazon is offering better deals than the official Xiaomi store on these new phones. The Chinese firm is only offering £80 off the regular 17 and £100 off the Ultra.
However, if the lure of a free tablet is of interest, then you can get a Redmi Pad 2 Pro with the 17 or a Xiaomi Pad 7 with the 17 Ultra, plus a few other tidbits like Google AI Pro and Spotify Premium trials.

Those are some good options, but make no mistake, the more impressive deal here is the vanilla Xiaomi 17, which we just awarded 9/10 in our full review.
Its new price is all the more impressive when you consider that it’s really more of a rival to the Pixel 10 Pro, Google’s flagship smartphone offering that sells for £999.
Make no mistake, the Xiaomi 17 is a true compact flagship, complete with a premium glass and metal design, a beautiful OLED display, and surprisingly excellent stamina from a deceptively large 6330mAh battery.
While it might not have the Pixel 10 range’s Qi2 charging support, the Xiaomi 17 makes up for that omission with impressively rapid 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support.

Its Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, meanwhile, makes mincemeat out of the entire Pixel 10 range – Pro and all.
The Xiaomi 17 also includes a superb triple 50Mp Leica camera system, complete with a dedicated 2.6x telemacro lens.
All of which combine to produce one of the best phones of its kind on the market. Our reviewer, Alex Walker-Todd, was certainly taken with the Xiaomi 17, handing out a 9 out of 10 score and concluding that it makes “a compelling case for compact phones that few others can match”.
