Buying a cheap phone outright and pairing it with a SIM-only deal has always been an easy way to save money on your phone bill.
But this Black Friday, the savings have gone stratospheric thanks to one deal in particular.
What’s the deal?
At Uswitch, you can get unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 50GB of 5G data with Lebara for just £2.39 per month for the first four months. After that, it’ll cost a still very reasonable £7.95 per month. And as a monthly rolling plan, you can cancel at any time without being charged.
The same plan usually costs £15 per month via the Lebara website. So, in the first year alone, you’ll be paying a total of £106.84 less, and your savings will continue to grow the longer you stick with it.
However, make sure you take advantage while you still can, as this deal is set to expire on 4 December.
Why buy it?
This Lebara deal is an easy way to save loads of money without compromising on your experience at all.
Lebara uses the Vodafone network, which supposedly covers over 99% of UK homes with 4G or 5G connectivity. Vodafone’s merger with Three means Lebara customers will soon be able to make use of Three’s network, too, so it’s only likely to get better.

Unlike Vodafone and Three, Lebara also offers free roaming in the EU and India up to 30GB each month. So, whether you’re heading to Madrid or Mumbai, you won’t have to worry about extra phone costs on your travels.
While I can’t vouch for the exact experience you have, I used Lebara for a trip to India in October 2023 and was very satisfied with the overall service.
Once your SIM card arrives in the post, it’s extremely easy to activate and move your phone number from your previous provider.
Just make sure you’re not planning to use it in the iPhone Air. Apple’s ultra-thin phone is the only handset sold in the UK which doesn’t support physical SIM cards, so you’ll need to get an eSIM instead.
