Hot on the heels of the recent iPhone Air launch, it looks like Motorola will be the next company to enter the slim-phone ring with the Edge 70 handset.
The news comes courtesy of serial leaker Evan Blass who took to X to showcase what appears to be marketing material for the supposed Motorola Edge 70, showcasing a very slim form factor and a luscious green colourway with accented camera lenses.
The ad describes the phone as being “impossibly thin”, but what’s interesting to see is the new meaning that the company’s existing “what’s your edge?” slogan takes on following the release of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, which is the most prolific Android phone yet to adhere to an ultra-slim build.
At this point, nothing else is known about the device other than that it appears to continue Motorola’s partnership with Pantone as you can just make out one of the company’s framed colour strips at the bottom of the phone, so there are sure to be other colourways on the horizon.
There’s also no other mention of additional phones launching alongside the standard Edge 70. For context, last year’s Motorola Edge 60 range included the higher-end Edge 60 Pro, the regular Edge 60 and the more affordable Edge 60 Fusion.
Motorola’s Edge handsets also typically have an ‘Ultra’ option, but this leak, if true, would all but confirm that there is no Edge 60 Ultra coming to market and that Motorola has shifted its focus entirely to the newer range.
While the standard Motorola Edge 60 has a respectable array of features, it suffered with HDR issues, while more expensive Edge 60 Pro ended up being one of our favourite mid-range handsets of the year so far.

Just like its supposed follow-up, the 60 Pro was also wonderfully slim, though its 8.2mm chassis is significantly thicker than the 5.8mm Galaxy S25 Edge and 5.6mm iPhone Air.
Given that Samsung’s and Apple’s phones are so new, it’s hard to tell yet whether the gamble to push forward with slimmer phones will pay off, particularly as the requirements necessary for building such a slim device usually come at the cost of several key features.
The iPhone Air, for instance, has a smaller battery than the more affordable iPhone 17, so we’ll have to wait and see whether or not consumers think that the trade-offs are worth it. Still, having another option in the ring can only help to innovate the sector, so keep an eye on Tech Advisor for more news on the Motorola Edge 70 as it appears.
