Motorola will mark its entrance into the ultra-slim phone battleground with the launch of the Edge 70 on 5 November. Or so I thought.
A full week early, the phone has appeared on Motorola’s official website, revealing everything about it. That includes its 5.99mm thickness, making it not quite as slim as the 5.6mm iPhone Air or 5.8mm Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. However, it does weigh less at 159g.
We also know the UK price – £699.99 – which will get you a model with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, seemingly the only version available.
But that doesn’t tell the full story. If you pre-order the phone (from next week, when it’s actually official), you’ll access one of the most incredible offers I’ve ever seen on any phone.
Let’s break it down.
Motorola’s stunning Edge 70 pre-order deal
Even at full price, the Edge 70 dramatically undercuts both the iPhone Air (from £999) and Galaxy S25 Edge (from £1,099) in the UK.
However, by completing a quiz on the Motorola website, you can get an instant £250 off via an eCoupon sent to your email. The new £450.99 price tag makes it almost identical to the Pixel 9a, which has had a small price drop to £449.
But it gets better. Much better.

Motorola
Motorola is including not one, not two, not three, but FOUR free gifts. I’m talking a fast charger to make full use of those 68W speeds, the Watch Fit smartwatch, Buds Loop wireless earbuds and a Moto Tag – Motorola’s answer to Apple’s AirTag.
If you were to buy all of those separately, it would cost you £274.98. That increases the total savings to £524.98 on a device that hasn’t even launched yet.
I’m not even finished yet, as you can also get a year of screen protection for just £1. This Moto Care option normally costs £31.99, so your total savings now reach almost £556.

That’s before you even get to trading in your old phone. Motorola will give you a free bonus of £50 on top of the trade-in value of the device itself, boosting your savings even further – up to £238, though at the time of writing, the trade-in tool didn’t work.
However, this will only apply to orders between 5-18 November, suggesting that the company has jumped the gun by putting the listing live now.
It’s a staggering pre-order offer, and one that I’d encourage you to take advantage of if you were considering the Edge 70. You can always return it if the phone isn’t for you – Motorola allows you to get a full refund within 14 days of purchase, and you don’t have to give a reason.
The Edge 70 specs you need to know about
But why might you want to buy the phone itself? It’s not all about the thin design, though that is a key factor which will help it to stand out, especially when compared to mid-range phones.
Motorola
The Edge 70 features a 6.67-inch pOLED display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, an upper mid-range chipset that Qualcomm launched in May.
Notably, the 4800mAh battery employs silicon-carbon tech, which generally enables a higher energy density (and therefore longer battery life) and faster charging capabilities than their lithium-ion counterparts. The 68W wired charging here is supported by 15W wireless, albeit with no Qi2 support, but you can add a case to add it.
There are only two rear cameras here – a 50Mp main and 50Mp ultrawide – meaning there’s no room for a telephoto (what looks like a third rear camera is a 3-in-1 light sensor). The trio of lenses is completed by another 50Mp sensor on the front.
Motorola
The device itself is made from a blend of glass and aluminium, plus a silicone finish on the rear. It’s available in three Pantone-certified colours – Bronze Green, Lily Pad and Gadget Grey. It features both IP68 and IP69 ratings, matching the best you’ll find on any of the best phones. You even get a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Edge 70 ships running Android 16, but also includes a range of Moto AI tools. Motorola has committed to security updates until June 2031, and it gets four Android OS updates.
Look out for more coverage of the Edge 70 following its actual launch on 5 November. But don’t expect any surprises from the company itself, and get ready to enjoy one of the best pre-order deals in smartphone history.
