SSamsung has expanded its One UI 8 beta programme to older Galaxy devices, and revealed the full release date of One UI 9 into the bargain.
Samsung initially released its One UI 8 beta programme on the Galaxy S25 range back in May. Around a month ago we reported on Samsung rolling out further One UI 8 beta updates to the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy Watch 7 lines.
Now the company has revealed that it is to commence bringing these One UI 8 beta updates to some of its older devices, starting with the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6, from next week.
The rollout will commence initially in South Korea, the US, the UK and India.

One UI 8 release date confirmed
That’s not all. Starting in September, the One UI 8 beta programme will extend to the Galaxy S23 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy A36 5G, Galaxy A55 5G, Galaxy A35 5G and Galaxy A54.
If you have one of these Samsung Galaxy devices, you can sign up to the One UI beta programme through the Samsung Members app.
This will come just ahead of Samsung’s full One UI 8 rollout later in the same month of September, which will incorporate feedback from the beta programme. This official release will start with the Galaxy S25 series before making its way to other devices.
One UI 8 initially appeared on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE when they hit the market last month.
The new UI has a similar look to One UI 7, but adds smarter, more context-sensitive AI features.
