OnePlus Nord 6: In summary
- OnePlus’s new mid-range phone will be officially revealed on 7 April
- A price increase may be on the cards
- Confirmed to use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset
- A huge 9000mAh battery will feature in some territories
- Camera specs now confirmed
The OnePlus Nord range has long been one of the go-to recommendations when talking about the latest mid-range phones, and the OnePlus Nord 5 was no exception.
With 2026 in full swing, however, we’re all wondering how OnePlus might look to elevate things even further in a successor, and if early rumours are anything to go by, we could be in for something special with the OnePlus Nord 6.
Even though it was something of a downgrade in the design department (the OnePlus Nord 4 was far more exciting there), the OnePlus Nord 5 is still one of the best mid-range smartphones, and with a tempting price tag of just £399/€449, it’s quite surprising just how much you can get for your money.
We’ve just had a boatload of leaks about the Nord 6 detailing when it will arrive, along with colourways, specs and more. Here is everything we know so far based on rumours and our expert analysis.

Is the OnePlus Nord 6 launching earlier than usual?
In summary
- Launch confirmed for April 7
- Every previous OnePlus Nord model arrived in July
After plenty of rumours suggesting as much, we can now confirm that the OnePlus Nord 6 will be revealed on 7 April.
Although the news regarding the Nord 6’s unveiling didn’t come as much of a surprise, given that the date had already been suggested by a handful of tipsters, we now have official confirmation from OnePlus itself about the matter.
Over on the brand’s Indian site, there’s now a landing page for the OnePlus Nord 6 with the 7 April date listed, as well as a ‘Notify Me’ button for fans to be kept in the loop.
When and where the Nord 6 launches outside of India is a bit up in the air, with ongoing rumours of OnePlus closing down in certain markets. We’ll keep you updated, of course, and we have our fingers crossed the phone makes its way to the UK, Europe and USA.
OnePlus
Longtime Nord fans might have already spotted that this marks a departure from OnePlus’ usual strategy, as every phone in the mid-range series has launched in July.
By bringing the launch forward, the Nord 6 will be entering the space not too soon after the Pixel 10a and around the same time as the rumoured Samsung Galaxy A57.
As you can see below, the usual launch window for the Nord series phones is consistently July.
- OnePlus Nord 5 – July 2025
- OnePlus Nord 4 – July 2024
- OnePlus Nord 3 – July 2023
- OnePlus Nord 2 – July 2021
- OnePlus Nord – July 2020

Will the Nord 6 cost more than the Nord 5?
In summary
- New rumours point towards a price increase
- Unlikely to be any less than £399/€449
Sorry OnePlus fans, it appears as if the Nord 6 could launch with a price increase over its predecessor, according to recent rumours.
Aforementioned tipster Yogesh Brar has also pointed out that the Nord 6 might have a higher price tag in India, jumping by roughly Rs 3-5K (£25-45).
Although a price increase is never welcome, it’s not entirely surprising given the current state of the world economy and how we’ve seen that impact the going rates for recent phones like the Samsung Galaxy S26 range.
The OnePlus Nord 5 retailed at £399, which allowed it to undercut Google’s mid-range phone and compete directly with the likes of the Honor 400 and the Nothing Phone (3a).
A price increase would instead have the Nord 6 butting heads with the Google Pixel 10a, Nothing Phone (4a) Pro and Samsung Galaxy A57.
The price of the Nord range has fluctuated quite a bit over the years, as you can see below:
- OnePlus Nord 5 – £399/€449
- OnePlus Nord 4 – £429/€499
- OnePlus Nord 3 – £499/€499
- OnePlus Nord 2 – £399/€399
- OnePlus Nord – £379/€399

What’s actually new on the Nord 6?
In summary
- Same chipset as the powerful Poco F7
- Some territories will see a 9000mAh battery
- A far more durable build is on the way
- A faster 165Hz refresh rate
- Potentially upgraded video recording
Spectacular Snapdragon power
We first saw Geekbench results for the OnePlus Nord 6 back in January, but it seems as though the phone has had some tweaks since then as more recent test results show a greater degree of performance.
Well, it’s now been confirmed that the OnePlus Nord 6 will use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, the same one that powers the brilliant Poco F7. The F7 was easily one of the standout mid-rangers of last year, largely down to its impressive everyday performance and ability to handle pretty much any game with ease. If the Nord 6 can replicate this feeling of power then it could end up being quite a competitive phone for 2026.

The model used for the Geekbench test is also listed as having 12GB RAM available, but it’s likely that there will be a more affordable version that utilises 8GB RAM, just like the OnePlus Nord 5 had.
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is similarly found in the Chinese-exclusive OnePlus Turbo 6, which has us thinking that the Nord 6 could just be a reskinned version of that same phone, designed for a Western audience.
The phone will also feature the same G2 network chip found within the OnePlus 15. In theory, this will allow for stronger Wi-Fi and 5G connections during everyday use.

An outrageously large battery
Although there is almost certainly going to be a big caveat to go along with it, OnePlus fans should get excited about the battery prospects of the Nord 6. The aforementioned OnePlus Turbo 6 hit the scene with an unbelievable 9000mAh silicon-carbon battery, and now we know that the Nord 6 will be following suit.
The problem is that due to Western regulations, that huge capacity might not see the light of day in the UK and Europe.
It will, however, be arriving in the Indian version of the phone, as the OnePlus India landing page for the Nord 6 confirms the 9,000mAh battery as being one of the key features onboard.
However, it isn’t hard to imagine OnePlus wanting to do all that it can to still have battery capacity be a defining feature on the Nord 6, so don’t be too surprised if we in the West end up seeing a cell around the 7000mAh mark. There could also be 80W fast charging to go with it.

A questionable display change
One of the best features of the Nord 5 was its large 6.83-inch display that also packed an impressive 144Hz refresh rate which is still quite rare for phones in general (not just at the mid-range level). Brace yourself, however, as a ‘give and take’ upgrade could be in store on the Nord 6.
The better part of this equation is that the Nord 6 will feature the same 165Hz refresh rate that’s currently available on the OnePlus 15 – just what you want for enjoying fast-paced games like Call of Duty Mobile.
OnePlus
The flipside of this is that the display could shrink slightly to 6.78-inches, although that might be more preferable to some who prefer having a slightly more compact device to carry around.

Next level durability
Here’s another facet that the Nord 6 could pinch from its Turbo cousin – an official IP68 and IP69K rating. These two certifications in tandem would mean that the Nord 6 has high-grade dust and water protection, to the point where it can even withstand water jets.
While this might not be as exciting as a 9000mAh battery, it is a huge win for consumer value as it raises the mid-range bar even further.

With that kind of rating in tow, you won’t have to worry about forking out for a flagship device in order to get top-shelf durability, and there’s the added peace of mind that comes with knowing that your phone is unlikely to fall foul of the elements.

A potential camera downgrade
We’ve seen quite an interesting change in OnePlus’s camera strategy as of late, with the OnePlus 15R ditching the telephoto lens of its predecessor, and it seems as though we might be seeing more of the same with the OnePlus Nord 6. The key specs have been confirmed via OnePlus India on X.
In terms of the rear-facing sensors, there’s still a near-identical 8Mp ultra-wide camera on the back, so we don’t anticipate any change in performance there, but there is a new 50Mp Sony LYTIA sensor serving as the main snapper.
With Sony’s LYTIA branding still being somewhat new on the scene, it’s hard to tell exactly how this sensor will differ from the main 50Mp Sony LYT 700 camera of the OnePlus Nord 5, but there are a few hints.
Of the various upgrades that Sony lists, the two features that stand out relate to HDR and video recording. Supposedly, the LYTIA sensors are better equipped to process high dynamic range, which is great news for when you’re capturing a scene that’s only partially lit or overexposed.
With video recording, Sony touts improved 4K/60fps performance, something that will no doubt appeal to content creators on a budget. Of course, all of this will need to be verified once we get a sample unit in for testing.
What is unfortunate is that the Nord 6 is taking a step back from the Nord 5’s best camera feature: its 50Mp selfie camera. Given how alluring mid-range phones can be to students with limited budgets, having a powerful selfie camera made sense as it produced the type of shots that made any night out seem epic.
By comparison, the Nord 6 will be getting a downgraded 32Mp selfie camera, and although it’s true that megapixel counts don’t necessarily correlate to having bad photos, our hope is that OnePlus has improved the computational processing that happens after you take a shot to plug the gap.

Everything else to know
Just like with its predecessor, the Nord 6 will have three colourways available: black, mint and silver. There’s also a special edition Naruto Nord 6 on the way after having been spotted on the support page of OnePlus India, although little is known at this point as to what this version of the phone might include. If previous brand collaborations are anything to go by, expect a unique backing on the phone and maybe exclusive wallpapers or even a special charging cable.
Thomas Deehan / Foundry
Anyone who relies on a lot of local storage may be disappointed as OnePlus could be ditching the 512GB variant entirely, instead focusing its efforts on two 256GB models with different amounts of RAM.
There’s currently conflicting information as to whether or not we’ll see a Nord CE 6 launched alongside the Nord 6. Tipster Yogesh Brar suggests that the CE 6 will potentially be saved for a later date, but India’s BIS certification platform notes that there is a separate phone listed as CPH2805 is on the way.
Much like how the Nord 6 appears to be borrowing quite a bit from the Chinese-exclusive OnePlus Turbo 6, the CE 6 could appropriate several of the same features from the more affordable Turbo 6V.
Otherwise, the Nord 6 appears to be carrying over the same set of cameras from its predecessor, so don’t anticipate any key camera upgrades unless there’s something in the realm of software.
