It’s taken a while, but the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G and Galaxy Tab A11+ 5G are finally coming to the US.
The Samsung Galaxy A17 5G arrived in the UK and Europe in the middle of August, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ commenced its staggered rollout in November.
However, the company’s plans with regard to a US release of these budget-friendly devices remained frustratingly vague – until now.
Right at the end of 2025, Samsung US made its intentions clear. Starting from 7 January, the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G has been available to buy in the country at a price of $199.99.
Just a day later, on 8 January the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ followed suit for a price of $249.99.
All of which is to say that both devices are now freely available to buy across the US.

What you’re getting
The Samsung Galaxy A17 5G gives you a 6.7-inch FHD+ 90Hz Super AMOLED display, a Exynos 1330 processor, and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging. On the camera front, you get a 50Mp main with a 5Mp ultra-wide and a 2Mp macro.
We reviewed the Galaxy A17 5G at the time of its European release and called it “another good budget Android phone from Samsung”, though we grumbled that it hadn’t really moved on all that much from the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G before it.
It’s a similar case for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+, which I reviewed myself. I called the tablet “business as usual”, with that business meaning “a perfectly functional, pleasant-to-use budget tablet”. Again, it’s no great step forward, but it’s decent tablet option for those on a budget.
Key specs include a 11in FHD+ LCD display, Quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, a Mediatek Dimensity 7300 processor, and a 7040mAh battery with 25W charging.
