Remember Sky One – the British channel that launched in the 1980s, and was home to many original programmes and American series? Well, it’s coming back, bringing together well-known and completely new shows.
During its 39 years, the channel broadcast British hits such as The Russell Howard Hour and An Idiot Abroad, and allowed viewers to catch up on the likes of The X-Files, The Simpsons, The Middle and Star Trek. Axed in 2021 as part of the company’s restructuring, it was replaced by Sky Showcase and Sky Max.
However, Sky One will return to channel 106 on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, replacing Sky Showcase and Sky Max. Available for Sky Ultimate TV, Sky Signature and Sky+ customers, the relaunched channel will feature programmes such as Rob & Romesh Vs…, The Paper and Ted, as well as new productions including The Dyers’ Caravan Park and Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby.

However, the buzziest premiere on Sky One will be Saturday Night Live UK, based on the iconic US topical comedy show Saturday Night Live. Known for its sketches commenting on current events and the big-name celebrities who host episodes, it’s one of the most successful late-night TV programmes in the US. Soon, Sky One viewers can see for themselves if this format will work in the UK.
Sky One’s return to channel 106 will result in changes to the channel numbering. According to information provided by Sky, it will look as follows:
