It’s been a long three years without everyone’s favourite football coach. Fortunately, Ted Lasso is returning to the pitch – Apple TV+ has just announced the approximate premiere date for the fourth season of the series.
The season 3 finale left fans feeling that the show had come to an end. After Manchester United won their final game, Richmond took second place in the Premier League. Ted decided that he spent enough time in the United Kingdom and planned to return to the United States to take care of his son.
However, in March 2025, the news broke that it wasn’t the end of Ted’s adventures in the UK. To the surprise of fans, Apple announced that the comedy series would return for season 4, with Lasso leading another struggling football team.

When will Ted Lasso season 4 be released?
Apple still hasn’t announced the exact premiere date of the fourth season, but we do know that the show will return in the summer of 2026.

What will the plot of Ted Lasso season 4 involve?
While plot details are still somewhat under wraps, we know that this time, Ted will take a women’s football team under his wing.

Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.

The female team was mentioned in the season three finale, but at the time it seemed like a spin-off idea. Ultimately, this will be the theme of the new season, bringing in a whole group of new characters. However, that doesn’t mean that well-known and beloved characters from Ted Lasso won’t be back – fans can count on the return of Rebecca and Keeley, Coach Beard, Roy and Leslie.
