While it might not be as widely recognised as the likes of Samsung or Google, Oppo still puts out a great selection of phones and has an avid fan base. The devices are well worth considering when weighing up which Android phone to buy next.
Over the last few years, we’ve seen improvements in its hardware and more competitive devices across the board, with constant reworkings and improvements to its Android software skin ColorOS – one of our favourite versions of Android and a great alternative to Google Pixel or Samsung Galaxy.
Oppo’s latest flagship line is the Find X8, which launched in October 2024 and includes the Find X8 Pro and the Find X8. Before that, the Find X7 and Find X6 range were China-exclusive models, as is the Find X8 Ultra. The last flagship phones seen in the UK before the Find X8 range were those in the Find X5 line, which has a Pro, regular and Lite model.
The company’s Reno line offers handsets in the mid-range space, with a good balance between features and price. Then there are the company’s budget offerings within the Oppo A series, along with its Find N foldables – although only the Find N2 Flip is available outside of China so far.
These are the best models we’ve tested and look out for an update soon as we’re publishing reviews of a number of new Oppo devices, including the A5, Reno 13 and Find N5.
Best Oppo phones 2025
1. Oppo Find X8 Pro – Best Overall

Pros
- Awesome camera system
- Great battery life
- Super powerful
- New camera control button
- Useful AI features
Cons
- Smaller sensors than the X7 Ultra
- No autofocus on the selfie camera
- Magnetic charging only works with case
Best Prices Today:
After taking a break from the UK market, Oppo is back with the Find X8 range. The Find X8 Pro is the highest-spec phone you can buy, and put simply it’s the best camera phone in this country right now.
The camera array is very similar to what you’ll find on the Find X7 Ultra, with impressive results in both good and low lighting conditions. This, in turn, renders scenes with incredible colour, detail and dynamic range. Autofocus is incredibly impressive too, as are the AI enhancements when you zoom in beyond 60x.
There’s a lot of other things to love about the Oppo Find X8 Pro. The whopping 5910mAh cell means you’ll get around a day and a half’s worth of battery life on average, even when streaming and playing the odd game. Performance is lightning fast and on par with some gaming phones, thanks to the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor.
The seemingly Apple-inspired take on ColorOS 15 is quick, easy to use and even boasts some useful AI features. Pair that with a premium, curved design with an IP69 rating, a gorgeous 120Hz display and the new camera control button, and you’ve got the recipe for the best Oppo phone you can buy.
If the high price tag is slightly off-putting, you could wait for the Find X8 – though we don’t yet know when that will launch in the UK.
Who should buy the Oppo Find X8 Pro?
Those who want top-shelf performance across the board, no matter what the cost.

2. Oppo Reno 12 FS – Best Value
Pros
- Premium, durable design
- Vibrant OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate
- Impressive battery life and fast charging
- Generous storage with expandable options
Cons
- Plastic build may not appeal to everyone
- Ultrawide and macro cameras are average
- No wireless charging support
Best Prices Today:
When it comes to phones that offer the most bang for your buck, very few can compete right now with the package provided by the Oppo Reno 12 FS. At just £299, the 12 FS falls closer towards the budget category as opposed to the mid-range crowd, but it has some features that genuinely give it a premium-level edge.
Even just to look at this phone, it’s difficult to tell that it’s a budget device. It adheres to the flat edge design language that’s become synonymous with the latest iPhones, and the Racing Green colourway is very eye-catching amongst a sea of affordable phones that approach the aesthetic as something of an afterthought.
The design is durable too, with an official IP64 water and dust resistance rating, meaning that you’ll never have to worry if you’re reading an article by the pool. Flip the phone over and you’re greeted with a gorgeous 6.67-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate to boot. Not only does this make scrolling through apps feel buttery smooth, it also elevates the colours of any entertainment apps
There’s also a massive 5,000mAh battery powering the show, which can get you through a heavy day of use without any issues. There is a trade-off in that there’s no wireless charging available, and the phone’s secondary cameras don’t quite live up to the standards set by the main 50Mp sensor, but there’s still a lot to love here if you’re tied to a strict budget.
Who should buy the Oppo Reno 12 FS?
Someone who wants a great screen, battery life and top tier build quality for under £300.

3. Oppo Find N2 Flip – Best Foldable
Pros
- Sturdy, gapless hinge design
- Excellent main camera
- Big cover display
- Good battery
Cons
- No water-resistance
- No wireless charging
- Unreliable Bluetooth
Price When Reviewed:
Not available in the US
Best Prices Today:
The Oppo Find N2 Flip is the only Oppo foldable you can buy outside China, and it offers direct competition to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4. Of course, with newer flip phones out from the likes of Samsung and Motorola, you may want to consider the long-term use of the N2 Flip before deciding which phone to buy.
Oppo is helped by the fact that its prices are extremely competitive – especially in the UK – but don’t mistake this for the cheap and cheerful option. It still packs a flagship processor, a better build quality than Samsung’s offering, and the same main camera you’ll find in the likes of the OnePlus 11.
You’ll have to live without wireless charging or water-proofing, and accept the risk that, as a foldable, it might not last as long as a traditional phone, but if you can live with those compromises, then this really is a fantastic device.
Who should buy the Oppo Find N2 Flip?
Anyone who wants a sturdy flip phone with a great main camera for selfies.

While great at the time of release, it’s been outdone by both Samsung and Motorola.

4. Oppo Reno 12 Pro – Flagship Features for Less
Pros
- Unique eye-catching design
- Lovely quad-curved screen
- Handy AI features
- Speedy charging
Cons
- Cameras prone to motion blur
- Gaming performance isn’t great
- No charger in the box
Best Prices Today:
The Oppo Reno 12 Pro offers a lot for the money. The screen is excellent, the design is unique and eye-catching, the software is easy to use and the AI features come in quite handy.
The cameras are good in the daylight, with the selfie camera being particularly impressive. However, in low light and with fast-moving subjects, they leave a little to be desired. The gaming performance is slightly lacking, too.
Whether this phone is right for you all depends on your priorities. If you’re keen on AI-powered productivity, it’s one of the best options in its price bracket. However, some rivals, such as the Google Pixel 9a, offer more when it comes to photography.
Who should buy the Oppo Reno 12 Pro?
Those in the market for an affordable mid-range phone that looks like a premium device.

5. Oppo Reno 11 F 5G – Best Lower Mid-Range
Pros
- Two very good cameras
- Big and bold screen
- Expandable storage
- Great battery life and fast charging
Cons
- Auxiliary lenses aren’t too impressive
- Middling performance
- Plasticky Construction
- Limited software support
Price When Reviewed:

Best Prices Today:
The Oppo Reno 11 F 5G is a capable mid-range smartphone with a very nice display, two great cameras, a robust design, long battery life and speedy charging, making it ideal for casual users. It’s also got some niche features that may appeal to some such as the ability to cut out subjects and use them as stickers and low-temperature charging.
The price tag of £349 means it faces stiff competition from brands such as Poco, Honor, Vivo and even Google, which best the phone in different areas such as battery life, performance and camera abilities. However, if there is a deal available on this phone, it may be worth considering.
Who should buy the Oppo Reno 11 F 5G?
Anyone who wants yesteryear’s budget phone at an even cheaper price.

6. Oppo Find X5 Pro – Best Former Flagship
Pros
- Beautiful, unique design
- Powerful camera
- Brilliant display
Cons
- Big and heavy
- No periscope lens
- Expensive
Price When Reviewed:
Unavailable in the US
Best Prices Today:
The Find X5 Pro is Oppo’s all-singing, all-dancing flagship device from spring 2022, and it’s still an excellent phone, despite the older processor.
You get a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and 80W wired charging together with 50W wireless.
The main and ultrawide cameras both pack the same 50Mp sensor, and offer almost exactly the same quality shots, with punchy colours, oodles of detail, and great dynamic range. There’s ‘only’ a 2x zoom camera – no periscopic lens here, sadly – but results are impressive here too.
It’s a big, heavy phone – thanks in part to the ceramic rear – and the design takes some getting used to, but this is an excellent all-rounder that delivers in every area.
Who should buy the Oppo Find X5 Pro?
Anyone who wants flagship level features but at a significantly reduced price.
Oppo Find X5 Pro: Further considerations
If you want software support for a longer period, more recent Oppo phones are a better buy.

7. Oppo Reno 10 5G – Best Mid-Range
Pros
- Great cameras
- Long battery life
- 120Hz AMOLED screen
- Affordable
Cons
- No IP rating
- Lots of unnecessary apps
- Two years of OS updates
Price When Reviewed:
Unavailable in the US
Best Prices Today:
The Oppo Reno 10 5G has an excellent AMOLED display, and an equally impressive camera set-up, led by a 64Mp main wide-angle lens. It’s also got a great battery life that managed over 13 hours in our internal tests.
It does come with no IP rating and some bloatware with pre-installed apps. However, that impressive price tag really gives you a lot for your money, and is especially competitive compared to other mid-range rivals.
Who should buy the Oppo Reno 10 5G?
Those who prioritise great cameras and battery life above all from a mid-range phone.
Oppo Reno 10 5G: Further considerations
The similarly priced Oppo Reno 12 FS has a nicer design.

8. Oppo Find X8 – High Hopes
Pros
- Slim, pocketable design
- Excellent photography
- Incredibly fast
- Long battery life
- Speedy charging
Cons
- No camera button or 6x telephoto
- Smaller main sensor than the Pro
Best Prices Today:
While this phone isn’t the top-spec model you can get, it has a very similar experience to the Find X8 Pro – and it’s expected to come with a more affordable price tag… when it launches in Europe.
This flagship phone features a flat, boxy design similar to the iPhone 16. While it’s on the larger side, it’s lightweight and durable, with a rare IP69 rating – thereby, it’s well protected from water and dust. This premium build is paired with a bold 120Hz display and impressive stereo speakers.
Packed with the same MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor as its Pro sibling, which translates to performance so powerful it rivals dedicated gaming phones. The 5630mAh battery means that you won’t run out of juice for several days, with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging being the icing on the cake.
While the camera array is missing the 6x telephoto seen on the Pro, it’s still brilliant. There are dual 50Mp sensors – one main and one wide – which produce striking results. The 3x telephoto is also stellar, with nice natural compression to shots that make them appear more high-quality than what you’d find on a standard smartphone.
The Find X8 runs ColorOS 15, one of the cleanest skins of Android out there, and features software and security updates until 2030, which is a real step up from previous models from the brand.
We would rank this smartphone higher, but we don’t yet have official UK pricing or a release date. It’s expected to retail for around £799, but we’re still waiting for it to launch many months later so it might not.
Who should buy the Oppo Find X8?
Folks who want a high-end device but without the flashier features (or price tag) of the X8 Pro.
Oppo Find X8: Further considerations
At the time of writing, availability is limited with the phone having yet to make an appearance in the UK.

Buying advice for an Oppo phone
Are Oppo phones good?
For the most part, yes. Like any company, Oppo has its hits and misses, but on the whole, the quality of its devices is excellent, especially its flagships in the Find X series. Its cheaper phones are solid, but tend to be a little more expensive than rivals with similar specs.
The company is best known for its impressive display and camera tech with Hasselblad, along with seriously fast charging, so if those are your priorities then you should definitely consider an Oppo handset.
What software do Oppo phones run?
Every Oppo smartphone runs Android, with the company’s custom ColorOS skin on top. This is one of our preferred Android skins, with a great balance between customisability and ease-of-use.
Do Oppo phones run Google apps?
Yes. You may have heard about Huawei, another Chinese phone company, which now has to sell phones without Google software thanks to a US trade embargo, but Oppo has no such embargo or restrictions, and there’s no reason to think it will.
The only exceptions are the China-exclusive models, such as the Find X8 Ultra.
What are the best Oppo alternatives?
Oppo’s major rival is probably Xiaomi, the other giant Chinese phone company currently enjoying success in the global market. Xiaomi phones often offer a similar set of specs to Oppo’s, and sometimes at cheaper prices, though we much prefer Oppo’s software.
Oppo is also a part of a tech conglomerate called BBK, and the company owns other phone manufacturers. In fact, both Realme and OnePlus share R&D with Oppo, and run similar software, so if you like the idea of an Oppo phone, then you should definitely consider those too.
Vivo is also a part of BBK, but has its own R&D facilities, so its phones are more separate.
Why don’t Oppo phones come out in the US?
Oppo phones don’t go on sale in the US or Canada, but that’s not because of any ban on them. Instead, Oppo simply doesn’t choose to sell smartphones in the US – it’s a challenging market, and one currently dominated by Apple and Samsung, which makes it hard for even huge foreign companies to break in.
Oppo’s sister company OnePlus does sell phones in North America though, so you should look to try a OnePlus phone if you really can’t find anything from Oppo.
