The news that Emerald Fennell, director of Promising Young Woman and Saltburn, was to adapt Wuthering Heights was initially met with enthusiasm. However, the casting choices sparked considerable controversy, as critics pointed out that Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie have very little in common with the Heathcliff and Catherine of the novel. The photos from the film set and the first trailer raised even more eyebrows.
To find out whether Fennell’s flamboyant vision does justice to the novel, it’s best to see it in the cinema. However, if you’re already thinking about a rewatch, here’s when it may be available on home media.

How to watch Wuthering Heights now
The film will premiere in worldwide cinemas on Friday, 13 February 2026, but you may find a preview in your area.
In the UK, you can book tickets via Vue, Showcase, Odeon or Cineworld websites.
In the US, tickets are available from AMC Theatres, Fandango or Atom Tickets.

When could Wuthering Heights be released on VOD?
Warner Bros., which distributes Emerald Fennell’s film, hasn’t yet announced when it will be available on digital. However, we’ll try to predict when it may happen.
Wuthering Heights is one of this year’s buzziest premieres, and it’s sure to draw crowds to theatres. Thus, it’s highly likely that Warner won’t rush its VOD premiere.
The studio’s most successful releases tend to appear on digital around 46 days after their cinema debut. However, Barbie, one of Warner’s most profitable films of all time, hit digital 53 days after its theatrical release, while A Minecraft Movie, another smash hit, did so in 39 days.
We expect that Wuthering Heights will drop on VOD at the end of March, most likely on Tuesday, 31 March 2026. Note that this is just a prediction, and the VOD release may slip to a later date.

When could Wuthering Heights be released on streaming?
Physical copies of Warner’s most profitable movies usually hit stores 28 days after the digital release. However, there are exceptions to that. The aforementioned Minecraft Movie appeared on DVD and Blu-ray 38 days after the VOD premiere, Barbie was 35 days later, while Sinners arrived 31 days after the digital debut.
Based on that, we expect Wuthering Heights to launch on DVD and Blu-ray on 28 April 2026 at the earliest, and 8 May 2026 at the latest. In the UK, the film’s hard copy launch may take place a few days later.
When could Wuthering Heights be released on DVD/Blu-ray?
In the US, the new adaptation of Emily Brontë’s novel will stream on HBO Max.
In the UK, Warner films usually end up on Sky Cinema and Now. However, in March 2026, HBO Max will finally launch in the UK, and Wuthering Heights may be available to stream there.
Some Warner films hit streaming very quickly – A Minecraft Movie and Sinners appeared on Max 4 days after their DVD and Blu-ray debut. By contrast, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice took 17 days to arrive, and Barbie took 59 days after physical copies hit stores.
We believe Wuthering Heights will arrive on Max in the first half of May 2026. At the latest, it may hit streaming this summer.
