Anyone who’s stayed up to date with our recent coverage will know that things are heating up in the world of Samsung. There are plethora of rumours and leaks about what the brand will do next, including a whole new vertical for its Z Fold phone line-up, but as with any generational refresh of tech from the brand, there’s always a Samsung Unpacked event to go along with it.
There are typically two Samsung Unpacked events throughout the year; we already had the first back in February along with the unveiling of the Galaxy S26 range and the Galaxy Buds 4, but now we’re very much due for the summer edition.
Quite a few Samsung devices are currently awaiting a follow-up, including the company’s foldable phones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, as well as the Apple Watch-competing Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, which hasn’t had a generational refresh since it first came to market two years ago. We could also see Samsung’s first smart glasses.
If you’re curious to see what Samsung has in store and when you can catch its next major event to make sure that you don’t miss any key details about the new devices, here’s all you need to know.
When is the next Samsung Unpacked launch event?
As of yet, Samsung has yet to officially confirm when its next event is going to take place, but based on all the rumours we’ve seen (including a slip-up from Samsung itself), all signs point towards a Samsung Unpacked happening on 22 July.
Although there have been plenty of reports from respected sources that 22 July is the planned date for the event, it’s a promotional discount from Samsung Malaysia that has served as the biggest and most official tip-off. The offer, which is available on the brand’s future foldable phones, doesn’t start until 22 July, which pretty much confirms it.
It’s tipped to take place in London rather than the USA, which has been the location of the last few. Samsung’s recent teaser (below) for the event appears to confirm the existence of the shorter Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide.

How to watch the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked live stream
Although Samsung has yet to share a link for the event, if it’s anything like previous years, then you’ll be able to watch the July Samsung Galaxy Unpacked via the company’s YouTube channel.
Until the stream is posted (and we’ll embed it here), you can watch the February Unpacked event below to relive the Galaxy S26 range being announced if you like.
What will Samsung launch at the next Unpacked?
If all the rumours end up being true (they normally are and there are plenty regarding this next event), then Samsung could be releasing an absolute boatload of new products at the upcoming July event.
Galaxy Z Fold 8
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be getting a successor, but not as you know it.
Instead of retaining the form factor of its predecessor, the Z Fold 8 will be adopting a more squat physique, similar to that of the Huawei Pura X Max. Most people are calling it the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide for ease.
Word on the street is that Samsung has gone down this route to try and more closely rival Apple’s plans, with the similarly square-like iPhone Ultra set to arrive later this year. Leaked images show how sort and stout it is.
Android Headlines
This phone will have a 7.6-inch QHD+ interior display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, while the outer panel will size up at 5.5-inches with a 16:10 ratio. This change in size should allow the inner display to work more efficiently for widescreen content, such as streaming and gaming, than the taller build of the Z Fold 7.
Brace yourself, however, as there may be some compromises to deal with, including a move to having just two rear-facing cameras, a 50Mp wide and a 50Mp ultrawide.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
Keeping the confusion going for a moment longer, there is a more traditional successor in development to the Z Fold 7, retaining the same tall aspect ratio, except that this phone will be known as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

From what we know so far, Samsung might have a tough time convincing people that the ‘Ultra’ moniker is deserved here, but the phone will be getting a few noteworthy upgrades, including a larger 5000mAh battery and faster 45W charging speeds.
There should be far less of a noticeable crease, too, something that should help the Fold 8 Ultra to compete with advancements made by the likes of the Oppo Find N6, where the crease can barely be seen from most angles.

Galaxy Z Flip 8
Out of all the phones set to be unveiled during the next Samsung Unpacked event, it seems as though the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 will be the most minor upgrade of the bunch.
This is a shame, as there’s a rumour floating around that the Z Flip 8 could be the last of its kind, and it doesn’t help that there are quite a few improvements that need to happen for the phone to really compete.
Android Headlines
Although the battery capacity and charging speeds may remain unchanged, the Flip 8 itself will boast a smaller frame than before. There are conflicting rumours as to how much slimming down will actually take place, but it seems as though the phone will have, at the very least, a 10% reduction.

Galaxy Watch 9 series
Rounding out the group are the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 Classic.
The appearance of the latter is particularly interesting as Samsung typically releases a new version of the Classic watch every two years, but has reportedly opted for an annual refresh this time around.
Onleaks x Android Headlines
Much like with the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 (below), little is known about these devices other than a supposed focus from Samsung to improve the battery life. Given that one of our main criticisms of the Watch 8 and the Watch 8 Classic was their longevity however, any upgrade here will be welcome.
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2
In tech terms, it’s been a long time since the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra hit the scene roughly two years ago, and in that time we’ve seen the more recent Apple Watch Ultra 3, not to mention a more direct competitor from Garmin in the Venu X1, but now we’re finally going to get an upgrade.
Evan Blass
Unlike with the aforementioned phones, there isn’t a lot known about the Watch Ultra 2, other than a planned 30% increase in battery capacity, jumping up to an 800mAh cell, which may result in an extra day of use.
It seems as though there’s also going to be a 5G-ready version of the watch for faster connection speeds when working independently from your smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy Glasses
A new form factor for Samsung following the Galaxy XR, are the Galaxy Glasses as a lighter, cheaper option which are, well, glasses rather than a VR-style headset.
The Galaxy Glasses will be Samsung’s first Android XR glasses and are tipped to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 chipset with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity to rival the Meta Ray-Ban glasses. A big selling point should be that they have Google Gemini AI built in.
Android Headlines
Rumours suggest they weigh 50g, have a 155 mAh battery, a 12Mp camera using the Sony IMX681 sensor, directional speakers, and a touch-sensitive panel on the right arm.
One of the big questions is how much they will cost. Leaks suggest $379-$499, but we’ll have to wait for Unpacked to find out for sure.
What we don’t expect to see at the next Galaxy Unpacked
While there’s plenty of new shiny tech in store at the next Unpacked, the wait is likely to be longer if you’re after one of the following Samsung devices.
The Galaxy Ring 2 would be a good shout for the July Unpacked. It marks two years since the smart ring was launched (even more since first teased) and Samsung has even confirmed it is working on a new model.
However, rumours suggest that the Galaxy Ring 2 won’t arrive in early 2027, so this one’s up in the air for now.
We’re also not expecting any new tablets as the Galaxy Tab S12 series should arrive in September, following Samsung’s usual refresh cycle. This is also true of the Galaxy S26 FE, also due in September as a follow-up to the Galaxy S25 FE.
