A number of Pixel phone users are reporting problems with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity after January’s Pixel update.
The January Android 16 update commenced rolling out around a fortnight ago, and it appeared at the time to be a relatively minor refresh.
Despite the lack of major new features, however, this latest update appears to have broken some fundamental components of daily phone usage for some Pixel owners.
As 9to5Google points out, Google’s forums and Reddit alike offer evidence that something is amiss with the January 2026 Pixel update.
For some Pixel users, Wi-Fi connectivity is no longer working on their Pixel phones. As in, they’re not even able to search for a Wi-Fi connection.
Still other Pixel users are reporting that Bluetooth is non-functional in the wake of the update.

Affected devices and solutions
The range of devices affected appears to be quite wide, including the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10, and Pixel 8 Pro.
Google is yet to acknowledge the issue, which means that there’s no indication of when a fix might be arriving. Early indications suggest that the usual boilerplate remedial actions of rebooting your phone or resetting the network are ineffective.
Some users even claim to have attempted a full factory reset, but to no avail. The only reported solution that we’ve seen comes from Reddit user Alert_Chipmunk2109, who claims that downloading the latest public Android build fixed the issue.
It’s not an ideal situation, especially this deep into Android 16’s life when attention is starting to turn to Android 17.
