At CES 2026, Amazon announced not only the launch of the new Amazon Ember Artline lifestyle TV and the upgraded Fire TV Stick HD but also the long-awaited redesign of the Fire TV app. The update is now gradually becoming available to users worldwide.
The Fire TV app upgrade will boost your user experience
The free update is already available in the US, and it covers the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen), and Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series.
The rest of the world will have to wait a little longer for a refreshed app. According to Amazon, the new version of Fire TV will be available in other countries and on a wider range of devices at the end of April 2026.
The first big change users will likely note is the Fire TV interface’s updated look: rounded corners, an improved layout, redesigned typography and colour gradients will all make the app more attractive and easier to navigate. But more importantly, a rebuild of the underlying code should make the app run faster, speeding up programme searches.

Amazon is also focusing on faster searches. Until now, Fire TV users could only pin six apps to the home screen. From the update, it’ll be possible to pin up to 20. In addition, the Menu button on the remote will provide instant access to games or your personal photos in your Amazon Photos account. Meanwhile, the Home button will let you jump straight to sound and display settings or smart home device management.
Amazon hasn’t forgotten about the mobile Fire TV app. It will also receive a glow-up to better match the main Fire TV version. It will also get new features, such as browsing, watchlist management, and playing titles on your television.
Amazon Ember Artline is Amazon’s answer to The Frame
For those who want their TV to blend in to their room decor, Amazon has launched the Amazon Ember Artline. This range of TVs lets you transform the screen of a switched-off device into a painting or photograph.
Along with the TV, you’ll get access to 2,000 works of art – ranging from Impressionist paintings to contemporary photographs and exclusive motion video pieces. You can choose an image to display by yourself or use the Match the Room option, which lets AI select artwork that best suits the room.
Amazon Ember Artline is available in 55-inch and 65-inch models, with 10 frame colours. Currently, it’s available for pre-order, and it will start shipping on 22 April 2026 in the US and on 7 May 2026 in the UK.

Amazon
Alexa+ will help you discover content
The icing on the cake as far as Amazon is concerned is the integration of Fire TV Stick with Alexa+.
The advanced voice assistant will help you choose what to watch, based on your preferences and mood. Alexa+ will add titles to your watchlist, find your favourite scene in a film, browse photos and art and discuss game statistics.
Alexa+ on Fire TV is now available to users with Early Access in the UK on compatible devices, including the new Fire TV Stick HD and Ember Artline.
