Following a similar price hike last year, Disney+ US and Hulu subscribers are once again facing rising subscription costs.
Disney+ UK has already been confirmed to increase its prices on one of the annual tiers, but in America, most plans are affected.
If you’d like to know whether that’s you, we have all the information you need.
When are Disney+ and Hulu increasing prices in the US?
The new prices will come into play on 21 October 2025. We imagine that users will be contacted about the price changes in the coming weeks.

So, if you’re an ad-free Hulu subscriber or have monthly ad-free Disney+ and Hulu bundle, then your prices are not impacted this time around.
If you’re on one of the other plans, then here some options to consider.
Buy an annual subscription to lock in for the lower prices
If you’re with Disney+ or Hulu, then first thing you can do is buy or renew your account with an annual subscription before the price hike kicks in.
An annual subscription for Disney+ Premium (ad-free) currently costs $159.99, while an ad-supported Hulu plan costs $99.99 per year – these are the only annual plans available.
If you’re a new subscriber, you can sign up for this on the Disney+ website or the Hulu website.
If you need to renew, take the following steps before 11:59pm local time on 20 October 2025:
- Open the Disney+ website or Hulu website in your browser
- Click on the profile icon on the right-hand side and tap ‘Account’ on the drop-down menu
- Follow the steps to manage your account and change your subscription – this will be different depending on how you pay for Disney+ or Hulu
The closer you wait until the date that the price increase takes effect, the longer you can avoid the price increase.
If, however, you’re mid-way through your annual subscription, this may be a pain. We used to advise buying a 12-month gift subscription for yourself, but Disney has now changed the way this works.
While you can still purchase a digital gift card, they’re not in the form of long-term subscriptions. Instead, you enter a custom amount, which is then redeemable against any monthly or annual plan.
This does give users a bit more flexibility over the types of gifts on offer, but it also means that you can’t now lock in for the lower prices for longer by purchasing an annual plan before a hike kicks in.

Change to a Disney+ bundle subscription
If you frequently switch between different streaming services, then it may be worth opting for a bundle instead which is much more economical.
The Disney+ and Hulu ad-free bundle is staying at the same price of $19.99 per month. As well as all your Disney staples like the Star Wars and MCU films, you’ll also get access to shows such as Only Murders in the Building and Shōgun.
If you wish to add sports, you could also opt for one of the bundles that includes ESPN. Right now, there’s a deal where you can get all three (with ads) for $29.99 per month for 12 months.
There’s also the Disney+, Hulu and HBO Max – so you can stream the likes of House of the Dragon and The White Lotus. This starts from $16.99 per month, but will be increasing by $3 per month in October.
Bundle in Disney+ with a broadband contract
Another way to keep costs down with your streaming subscription is to bundle in Disney+ with a broadband contract. If you’re with Verizon, this provider offers the bundles at a lower cost than normal – $10 per month rather than $16.99 per month.
Cancel your subscription altogether
If none of these options are suitable for you, then you can cancel your account with Disney+ or Hulu altogether. You can always rejoin further down the line if a show/movie you’re desperate to watch becomes available on the platform.
Here’s what you need to do to cancel a subscription:
- Open the Disney+ website in your browser
- Click on the profile icon on the right-hand side and tap ‘Account’ on the drop-down menu
- Follow the steps to manage your account and cancel your subscription
You can find more granular instructions – including how to cancel from a phone or TV – in our guide to cancelling Disney+.
