While the world has its eye on the iPhone 18 launch this September, it seems three formidable Android rivals will be launching around the same time.
The Xiaomi 18, Oppo Find X10, and Vivo X500 could all be hitting shops (at least in China to begin with) in September, if a claim from established tipster Digital Chat Station is to be believed.
This would be the normal launch window for Xiaomi’s flagship range, but it would mean earlier launches for both Oppo and Vivo to better compete.
Here are the latest rumours on each of these potential iPhone 18 rivals.
New Xiaomi 18 details
The aforementioned Digital Chat Station has had something specific to say about the Xiaomi 18 series.
Apparently, the regular Xiaomi 18 will feature a 6.4-inch display, which seems to be creeping up in size. The Xiaomi 17, pictured below, featured a 6.3-inch screen, making it one of the more compact flagships.
This 2K panel will sport a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, as well as “ultra-narrow bezels, and a perfectly straight screen with large rounded corners”.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro, meanwhile (which we don’t normally see in the west), will apparently feature dual 200Mp cameras, a new and improved screen, and upgraded “peripheral components”.

New Vivo X500 specs
The Vivo X500 might well be the least high-profile of these three phones – at least in the West – but it shouldn’t be found wanting.
That Digital Chat Station has been at it again with the spec rumours, this time claiming that the Vivo X500 Pro Max variant will be fronted by a 6.85-inch 2.5D LIPO OLED panel with a 2K resolution and an elevated 144Hz refresh rate.
It should also support high-frequency PWM dimming at full brightness, which should help those with sensitive eyes.
The tipster also claims that the Vivo X500 Pro Max will feature a main Sony camera with a 50Mp 1/1.28-inch LOFIC sensor, as well as a 200Mp 1/1.4-inch periscope telephoto camera. There’ll be a 50Mp ultra-wide, too.

Oppo Find X10 particulars
Last week we heard (guess who) that the Oppo is testing a couple of high-end main cameras for potential use in the forthcoming Find X10.
Apparently, it’s between a 1/1.3-inch 200Mp Samsung Isocell HPC sensor and a 1/1.4-inch 200Mp alternative.
We could also be seeing an improved periscope camera offering, with a 1/2-inch 64Mp sensor and a 1/1.56-inch 200MP alternative both in the running.
Add a 6.59-inch 1.5K LTPO screen, an 8,000mAh battery, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, high-level water resistance, and a dedicated AI button to that spec list, and you’re looking at a serious iPhone 18 rival.

Global launches?
As usual, the problem for buyers in the UK, Europe and the US is whether these phones will be readily available.
For those in the States, the answer is typically no and European markets are very hit and miss. Even then, we’ll have to wait until 2027 to see some of them go on sale outside of China.
Still, if you’re not tied to Apple’s ecosystems, these might be some of the best Android phones on the market.
