Google is now enabling Gemini to use personal data from your Google account to instantly generate personalised images using the Nano Banana 2 image model.
The feature, called “Personal Intelligence”, can pull context from sources such as Google Photos, Gmail, YouTube and search history. Google gives the example that prompts such as “Design my dream house” or “Create a picture of my desert island essentials” will now create unique imagery that reflects your taste and lifestyle.
The system can also use tags in Google Photos to identify people or pets, so that an instruction including the word “dad” or “mum” is actually based on the right person, without you needing to upload photos for each prompt.

Users can also critique results, manually select reference images (simply by pressing the + icon) and check which image sources the model used.

The announcement also addresses privacy concerns. Google reiterates: “The Gemini app does not directly train its models on your private Google Photos library. We train on limited info, like specific prompts in Gemini and the model’s responses.”
It also makes it clear that linking your Google apps to Gemini is an “opt-in experience”, which users can adjust in settings at any point.
Personal Intelligence is currently available to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers in the Gemini app. An AI Pro subscription costs £18.99 per month in the UK and $19.99 in the US. An AI Ultra subscription, which is designed for professional use, costs £234.99 per month in the UK and $249.99 in the US, although there is a half-price deal on at the time of writing.
