- Honor Magic 8 Pro hitting Malaysia next week
- No regular Honor Magic 8 model
- Dubai launch confirmed for 10 December
Honor will announced the global launch of its Magic 8 Pro smartphone next week, it has confirmed.
The Chinese brand initially revealed the Honor Magic 8 and Honor Magic 8 Pro on home turf in mid-October, but now we have an indication when the rest of us are going to get a look at this exciting series – and which of the two models will make the cut.
Over on the Honor Malaysia website, it has posted an invitation to “Save the Date” for 27 November at 3pm local time. Pre-orders are set to be open between 27 November and 4 December, which indicates that the phone is set to hit shops early next month.
The company explicitly mentions only the Honor Magic 8 Pro here, which indicates that the regular Honor Magic 8 won’t be making its way to global markets. This is in line with the company’s previous approach, in which only the Honor Magic 7 Pro appeared in the UK, along with a cheaper Honor Magic 7 Lite.

Honor Magic 8 Pro global rollout and specs
Now that the first territory outside of China has been revealed, we’d expect news of a similar European launch soon.
Indeed, further indication of a steady global rollout for the Honor Magic 8 Pro has come from an invitation to a Dubai event on 10 December. In this one, Honor is promising a focus on the phone’s night photography capabilities.
Honor is offering a free Insta360 Ace Pro action camera with pre-orders in Malaysia. There’s no guarantee that we’ll see the same offer in the UK and Europe, but we’d be surprised if there wasn’t something to entice us in – especially with contemporaries like the OnePlus 15 making such a splash just recently.
The Honor Magic 8 Pro should be a more than worthy competitor, with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 power and an impressive photographic that includes a 200Mp 3.7x periscope camera.
Out front there’ll be a 6.71-inch LTPO OLED screen, with a 120Hz refresh rate and an eye-scorching 6,000 nits peak brightness.
We’re expecting the battery to be smaller than the Chinese original’s 7200mAh in global models. Here in Europe, it’ll shrink to a still-pretty-large 6270mAh.
